SEC Baseball Recaps (May 5)

Eddie Rabbit was probably enjoying the SEC baseball landscape on Friday night as a several games were affected by rain; Arkansas and Tennessee were washed out for the second straight day reducing the weekend to a two-game series; Alabama and Auburn were also rained out on Friday night on the Plains; the start time of the Georgia-Kentucky game was moved up four hours and the teams still played in heavy rains in Lexington on Friday afternoon.

South Carolina snapped its 6-game losing streak in SEC series openers with a 3-2 win at LSU; the Gamecocks scored all three runs in the second inning and got 4.2 scoreless innings from relievers Josh Reagan and Tyler Johnson for the much-needed road win.

Georgia scored four unearned runs in the ninth inning to shock Kentucky 5-3; Florida scored seven runs in the fourth inning and cruised past Ole Miss 11-2 in Gainesville; Miss. State posted a 5-1 win over Texas A&M to even the series in College Station; Vanderbilt got a solid start from Patrick Raby and three RBIs from Julian Infante to top Missouri 5-2 in Nashville.
