College Baseball Notebook (April 26)

The college baseball world looked more like football scores on Friday night as five teams scored 20 or more runs and 36 total teams reached double figures … Louisville (32), Coastal Carolina (27), Oral Roberts (25) and St. Mary’s (20) all scored 20-plus runs … Louisville’s 32 runs are the second-most in school history and third most in an NCAA Division I game this season … Louisville freshman third baseman Alex Binelas hit for the cycle and drove in eight runs in the blowout win over Alabama A&M … Cal got a pair of home runs in the bottom of the ninth inning in a 8-7 walk-of win over Oregon … Coastal Carolina shortstop Scott McKeon had seven RBIs in the Chanticleers 27-2 win over Georgia State … East Carolina belted four home runs in its 14-0 series opening win over Tulane, in a battle of the top two teams in the American Athletic Conference … Grambling center fielder Warren Laster and second baseman Garrett Smith combined for two home runs and nine RBIs in the 12-0 run-rule win over Southern … Jackson State extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 14 games with a 9-6 win at Alabama State … Morehead State redshirt junior left-hander Dalton Stambaugh tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout in 5-0 win over league leading Jacksonville State … Oral Roberts had two 9-run innings in its 25-2 run-rule win over Purdue Fort Wayne … Purdue Fort Wayne (0-19 Summit League) remains the only winless Division I team in conference play with a 25-2 loss to Oral Roberts … Saint Mary’s set the school record for most runs in West Coast Conference play with a 20-0 win over San Diego … UCLA right-hander Ryan Garcia tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout in 5-0 win over Washington State … UC Santa Barbara had its school-record 13-game winning streak snapped with a 9-4 loss at UC Riverside. Connor Cannon hit two home runs and drove in four runs in the win. Cannon now owns the school record with 32 career home runs.
