MLB Headed to Omaha

MLB LogoMLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced on Thursday that the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers will play Thursday, June 19, 2019 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebarska. The game will be played one day prior to the official start of the 2019 College World Series.

Omaha has been the home of the Royals Triple-A affiliate since 1969. The Omaha StormChasers (Pacific Coast League) play at Werner Park in Pappillion, a suburb of Omaha. The Omaha Royals played at Rosenblatt Stadium through the 2010 season. Continue reading “MLB Headed to Omaha”

Royals Prospect Delivers Natural Cycle

CWS Recaps (Thursday, June 21)

2018 CWS LogoThree SEC teams – Arkansas, Florid and Miss. State – along with Pac 12 runner up Oregon State make up the Final Four at the 2018 College World Series. This is the second time in CWS history that three teams from the same conference were among the final four teams in Omaha.  Three SEC Eastern Division teams (South Carolina, Florida and Vanderbilt) and Virginia comprised the final four teams in 2011.

An SEC team is guaranteed a spot in the CWS Finals. The SEC team has had a team play in the finals 10 times in the last 11 years, including the 2018 season. Coastal Carolina and Arizona played for the 2016 CWS Championship, which is the only time since 2008 the SEC was not represented in the finals. Continue reading “CWS Recaps (Thursday, June 21)”
